Gabbard Moves Presidential Daily Briefing Staff From CIA to ODNI

DNI Tulsi Gabbard just made a significant move, shifting the staff responsible for assembling the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) from the CIA to the ODNI. According to a senior intelligence source, this is part of an effort to streamline and ensure workforce continuity. The PDB, a high-level summary of national security matters, has been presented to the President since 1946. This follows Gabbard’s earlier move of the National Intelligence Council (NIC) from the CIA to the ODNI. CIA officials see this as logical, as the NIC has always been part of the DNI. Another intelligence official explained the move is to best serve Gabbard’s role as the President’s primary intelligence advisor. Bringing the PDB and NIC staff closer physically allows for better support, reduced lag time, and quicker response to provide timely, actionable intelligence. These changes are also seen as part of Gabbard’s broader effort to eliminate leaks and alleged ‘deep state holdovers’ who officials claim are politicizing intelligence analysis and undermining President Trump’s agenda. Fox News Digital previously reported Gabbard moved three intelligence community experts to the DOJ to investigate and prosecute leaks. This week, Fox News Digital exclusively reported Gabbard fired two senior officials heading the NIC, described as ‘extremely anti-Trump.’ These were acting chairman Mike Collins and deputy Maria Langan-Riekhof. Collins had been accused of political bias and undermining the Trump administration, with ties to Michael Morrell, a former CIA deputy director who co-authored the 2020 letter suggesting Hunter Biden’s laptop had signs of Russian disinformation. Langan-Riekhof was described as a strong supporter of DEI initiatives and also as extremely anti-Trump.
